I am privileged to teach special education in a school of over 500 students. We have a diverse socioeconomic population, so I strive to provide equitable experiences in the classroom for each student.
My students are bright, dynamic, and creative.
Most of them struggle with language-based disabilities that can make reading and writing difficult.
My goal each day is to provide rich literacy and social learning experiences that connect with my students, so that they fall in love with learning, and make great friendships at school.
My Project
My students love to learn through creation. Our craft station is always buzzing with activity, even though our supplies are running low. Making art is a great way for students to apply their learning in all subjects, while also providing them with an opportunity for healthy expression of their feelings.
We need fresh markers, crayons, and other supplies to help my students' love of art and creating continue to blossom.
We need paper, crayons in a variety of colors of skin tones, and new glue sticks to keep our arts and crafts station buzzing. Please help me keep the spirit of art and making alive in my classroom.
