Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergartners are curious and eager learners! These little curious minds are ready to explore the world and absorb as much knowledge as possible. My students are becoming more and more aware of what is literature as well as the importance of it. Several of my students have never been to school and it is their first time in a school setting.

My students come from a low social economical families and some are also new to the country.

Our entire school is composed of low social economically disadvantage families. Our school does its best to keep up with the technology but due to the large number of student body, we are all not able to have up to date technology available for all of our students.

My Project

The use of tablets in the classroom has become an essential necessity for students. Tablets enable students to use technology in a productive and constructive manner. Students can read books at their individualized level and enjoy what they read. Tablets allow students to become independent as well as responsible for their learning. Students feel comfortable being able to select what activity to do as well as allowing students to create their own original work. Technology is all around us and students from low socioeconomic families are very limited to the amount of technology they are exposed to. With the tablets students will learn how to use technology in a safe and responsible manner.

Work stations time is a very engaging and educational time where students get to work collaboratively with other students or independently.

With the kindle fire tablets the students will get a chance to work on their reading and reading comprehension skills. Students will enjoy using the tablets because everyone will get a chance to use them throughout the day to help them address their specific learning need. Whether it is during math centers time, reading time, or small group time everyone will be allowed to use them as enrichment or as a learning intervention. Students will also have the opportunity to share their work with their parents and feel proud of their academic progress.
