My Students

The three health and physical education teachers and I teach a wide range of students. Each of our students learns in a variety of ways, and I want our subject to shine even brighter for them instead of being just another special to attend. Most of our students, however, come from low-income households and do not have access to what we could potentially provide them in class. Each student has full potential to succeed, but, without proper resources, it is hard to help these students become the best that they can be!

Fortunately for me, I have the opportunity to teach the female students in the building.

This is the last middle school in our district to do this. Having this setup allows me to really connect with my students and learn who they are as young ladies. My students never have a chance for a learning experience all of their own. I want to give my students the best possible chance of that with this new project!

My Project

A class set of headphones in my health classroom can be the first step into individualized learning. Having a set of headphones alleviates the struggle if my students don't have a pair. They can begin their journey to a more individualized learning playlist just for them. Headphones can allow for self-paced stations that provide the students opportunity to hear video and concentrate more of their learning as opposed to possible distractions around them.

Headphones is the first step to really enhancing my classroom experience for my students.
