This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, hard-working and excited about learning. More than half of my students come from a low income household and for many English is not their first language. For my students, the art room is a refuge during the school day and is a safe place where they can thrive, explore and create.

Arts Education is crucial for the overall success of my students.

Students who have access to an art education are more likely to graduate, have better attendance rates and see improvements in reading and math scores. By donating to this project you will support my students art education and give them the opportunity to create, explore and imagine.

My Project

As any new teacher will tell you, setting up your new classroom requires plenty of supplies to make your space a suitable place for students to learn. When it comes to art class, where my classroom will be home to over 500 young students, it seems like we can never have enough supplies!

These supplies will help get me started and make my classroom a space where students are empowered to explore creatively and develop a love of art.

This project includes basic art supplies such as glue sticks and sharpies, that are staples for almost any art project we will complete.

This project also includes organizational supplies that will help organize art supplies in a way that fosters student independence and creative confidence when choosing the supplies they wish to create with.
