My Students

My students come to school eager to learn and amaze me with their talent and creativity. They are always excited to enter the art room and explore their creativity with a variety of materials.

My students are predominantly African American and come from low income families.

We are a Title I school with most students receiving free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

I would like to explore printmaking on paper and fabric with my students. We have studied the principles of design and have sketched and planned out designs for sketchbook covers and face masks.

I would like to take this lesson to the next level as students will design their own images to be cut from fabric and transferred onto capes and shirts.

Students will have the opportunity to show off their creations during an end of year fashion show.

My students will learn about different careers in design and fashion as they go through the process of brainstorming design ideas, sketching, production and final creation.
