My Project

My young students learn so much more when directly involved with lessons. Math and Science manipulatives give these little learners experiences they can see, touch and manipulate to transform the abstract into something concrete they can understand. Having something tangible like counters and measuring tools can greatly increase understanding of number concepts and basic mathematics. Practicing patterns can help them learn predictions and understand what comes next. This is important as they are learning how to make logical connections and use reasoning skills.

Hands on Science activities are far more engaging for curious minds!

Students discover the world they live in by touching and experimenting. Sensory bins provide textures to feel as well as things to see, smell and hear. The more senses used, the more the lesson sticks! The products I have chosen will help my littles learn about themselves, plants, nutrition and animals and their habitats, just to name a few.

Besides being great for building necessary fine motor skills, the benefits of manipulatives for math and science are endless. With these materials my students will have concrete models to solve problems which will not only build confidence but create stronger understanding when they have physical evidence of how their thinking works.
