My Students

My class is in a public Montessori school serving children in K3 through 8th grade. In our 1st through 3rd grade classroom, we focus on academic and practical life skills that children need to be successful. The children in my class are creative, thoughtful, and curious, always interested in learning something new!

My students are creative, caring, enthusiastic learners who are beginning to understand their special place in our world.

I want them to develop a curiosity that allows them to appreciate all that Montessori education has to offer!

My Project

My 1st through 3rd grade students have been learning virtually for over a year due to the pandemic. Because of the age range in our classroom, we also have a wide range of reading abilities. The more advanced readers have not yet had the opportunity to participate in a reading group -- I'd like to change that!

This selection of books will help me create advanced reading groups, allowing for more student interaction and collaboration while we continue learning virtually.

At this point in the year, the students are struggling with a lack of connection to each other and are starting to experience pandemic fatigue.

I am hoping that bringing these students together to discuss great stories will promote literacy skills, as well as give them an opportunity to enjoy time as a community.
