My Project

This school year is a very unique one for my talented 5th grade scholars. It is one that will be memorable for them as they prepare to leave elementary and head into junior high school. As their mentor and teacher, my goal is to build their Social Emotional Learning at this crucial time when it is needed the most. I would love to engage them in ways that will open new opportunities for them to create and contribute to their environment in the most impactful way possible.

Encouraging empathy and resilience during this crucial time will help promote a positive environment in our classroom, our school and our community.

In our classroom, we start with daily affirmations and we say kind words to our peers. By doing this, we are ensuring that our scholars have a positive mindset to prepare them for their lessons so they can achieve success.

This Cricut Press Machine will be used to allow students to design and share their positive affirmations as part of a community service project. The purpose of this project is to promote social and emotional learning and to bring change through small acts of kindness. Scholars will receive personalized gifts from the teacher for excelling in this activity. Also, scholars will be able to make gifts for family and friends to further demonstrate what they are learning in school.
