Creating Calm: Sensory Resources for Better Learning

My Project

Enhancing Learning Through Sensory Support

In our classroom, I have the privilege of working with an amazing group of students who face unique challenges, including anxiety, autism, behaviors, and ADHD.

To support their diverse needs, I am seeking funding for sensory items that will create a more inclusive and calming learning environment.

This project will include weighted items, sensory stickers, and calming floating items designed to help students regulate their emotions and improve focus. Weighted items provide comforting pressure that can reduce anxiety and promote relaxation, while sensory stickers engage their tactile senses, allowing for brief moments of distraction that can help students refocus. The calming floating items will serve as visual aids, creating a soothing atmosphere that encourages mindfulness and self-regulation.

My goal is to empower my students to harness their sensory needs positively, fostering a sense of safety and security in the classroom. With these tools, I believe they will be able to engage more fully in their learning, participate confidently in classroom activities, and thrive both academically and socially.

What makes my students special is their resilience and creativity. They inspire me every day with their unique perspectives and determination. By providing them with the right sensory tools, we can create an environment where every student feels valued and capable of success.
