Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many children battling cancer and other serious illnesses spend weeks or even months in the hospital, often away from the comfort of home and familiar activities. The time spent in these environments can be overwhelming and emotionally taxing. For these young heroes, we can help make their journey a little brighter with activities that provide a sense of normalcy and peace.

I am requesting support to provide a calming work area with Lego sets and foil art kits and other art materials for my students.

These activities will offer them a creative outlet to escape the stress of their treatments and give them a sense of accomplishment and joy.

What We Need:

Lego Sets: Lego offers a world of creativity where children can build and design their own structures, whether they are following a set design or creating their own masterpieces. This helps them focus on something enjoyable and positive while fostering creativity.

Foil Art Kits: Foil art is a soothing activity that allows children to create beautiful designs with metallic foil. The process of carefully applying the foil and watching their artwork come to life provides a calming, sensory-rich experience. It’s an ideal activity for relieving stress.

Art materials such as coloring books, markers and stress relief balls.

How This Will Help:

Providing these materials will help create a calm, positive space where students can take a break from the medical treatments they face each day. They will be able to focus on creating something beautiful, which can be an incredibly therapeutic and healing experience. Whether they’re building with Lego bricks or crafting, they’ll have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an activities.
