This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?

The calming corner items, such as sensory tools, fidget items, and comfortable seating, will help my students regulate their emotions, reduce stress, and refocus on learning.

The student store resources will provide hands-on opportunities to practice essential life skills like budgeting, communication, and decision-making, helping them gain independence and confidence for real-world situations.

What are your goals for this project?

My goal is to create a classroom environment that supports both emotional well-being and the development of critical life skills. The calming corner will provide a safe space for students to self-regulate, while the student store will reinforce positive behaviors and teach practical skills that will benefit them beyond the classroom.

What makes your students special?

My students are incredibly resilient, hardworking, and eager to learn. Each of them has unique strengths and challenges, and they inspire me daily with their determination to succeed. They thrive in an environment that offers support, structure, and opportunities to grow, and this project will give them the tools they need to shine.
