Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Spanish books will help support and growth opportunities for my bilingual students. The books provide leveled reading for beginning readers and grade-level readers. Later in the year, our mornings start with independent reading with a book of choice. Many students seek Spanish books at their reading level. Having nonfiction and fiction options encourages students to read interest-based books in both languages.

Allowing students to choose both the topic and language of their books has a positive impact on their interest in exploring languages beyond their comfort zone.

Being bilingual and bi-literate at an early age will create many opportunities for our young scholars.
