My Students

Read, write, do math; read, write, do math ... when can kids be kids in school anymore?

In September, I will have (at least) 31 first graders in my class!

My inner-city school is (daytime) home to children who all qualify for free lunch. Many students also need to attend school for additional hours of remediation. It's a long day for little ones.

My Project

My students need markers, paper, and other art supplies to help them express themselves. Children need to create art! Sometimes the art is an end to itself and sometimes it's used to express math concepts, decorate reports, and illustrate student stories. I've seen kids who can only be reached through art, but when you make that connection it opens the door to many aspects of learning.

If you donate to this project, you will help over 30 children use creative materials to improve their school work and improve themselves!

Imagine the smiles of joy on the faces on these kids when the big box of art supplies arrives ... smiles that you put there.
