Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

I am a first year Social Science teacher at a Title I high school and the purpose of creating this project is to be able to create an inclusive and safe environment for all students to learn and have materials for their achievement. I don't want my students and their families to feel the burden of buying supplies for school, and if I can help provide what they need for the classroom, it will encourage confidence in my students to engage in their learning, and eliminate just one more barrier that keeps students from achievement.
Several items that are included in my project, such as writing utensils, binding paper, folders, and notebooks will be readily available for my students and used for various note taking and assignments.
Additional items included in my project, like butcher paper, bulletin board supplies, whiteboard markers, laminating pages, paper cutters, and paper towels, will be used in the classroom to ensure a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for students, and additionally will allow me to have the right tools handy to engage my students in learning.
What makes my students special is that they are entering 12th grade, marking their final year in high school. It is an exciting accomplishment, and many students may feel Senioritis already taking effect. This should be an especially fun and exciting last year before they graduate.
