My Students

I am the reading teacher at my school. I am responsible for teaching struggling readers in middle school. Many of the students that I work with read on a 1st-4th grade level. By the time they make it to middle school they are very well aware of their difficulties and it is my job to help them see that there is still hope.

Being in middle school and not able to read on grade level is very difficult.

Some of my students are embarrassed to need help at this level of school. I'd like to create an environment that helps them to comfortable in the space.

My Project

These items will allow me to create bulletin boards around my room to help my struggling students. The inspirational posters will help to boost their self-esteem. The borders allow me to create a warm and inviting classroom. The ink allows me to print out colorful materials that coincide with the reading program I use to boost their reading skills.

I would like to create a warm and inviting space that these struggling readers want to be in.

Some of my students are embarrassed to be in middle school and still need help reading. Bright colors and materials to ease their transition to the services will inspire them to want to grow!
