My Students

Everyday my students are exposed to technology through video games like Minecraft and Super Mario. I believe that with the use and exposure to tablets my students will begin to take responsibility for their learning outcomes, allowing me to be a guide or facilitator for their learning.

I work with students who are not only economically diverse, but academically diverse as well.

My classes currently consist of 21 students in one class and 19 in the another, who all have different strengths and weaknesses academically. There are a total of 11 ESL learners and 7 students who need assistance with their learning. School is the only place where some of them will have the opportunity to use a computers and integrate technology into their learning. My students love learning new things and they love using technology to do it. Sometimes that is the only way that I can keep their attention. I know that I don't like to listen to a teacher lecture all day and I know they don't either.

My Project

Through the use of tablets my students will become more active learners. They will want to learn and acquire more knowledge. During center time they will be able to play games and do activities that will be geared toward their learning abilities. The tablets will also aid in many different research possibilities. Right now only 4 students can research things on the computer and that is only when they are working like they are supposed to.

Your donations to our class project will help my students grow academically and socially.

This technology will enable my students to learn at their own pace. Almost all apps available today will allow for individualized instruction. Students can learn according to their abilities and needs. This will also give me extra time to work individually with students who may be struggling. We would appreciate your help so much. Thank you.
