My Project

As a Reading Specialist my mission is to provide my students with a nurturing environment that not only supports their academic growth but also instills in them a lifelong love for learning. However, our current reading room falls short of this vision.

This project is a part of my goal is to create a versatile and stimulating environment that caters to the varied learning styles and preferences of our students.

Long term, I would love the opportunity to incorporate an array of seating options, such as bean bags, cushioned floor seats, and low tables with adjustable stools, allowing each student to find their perfect spot for reading. For now I am would like to lay the foundation by acquiring these 2 staple pieces. It is my hope that taving more open concept seating will support me in setting up collaborative learning areas where students can work together on reading activities, promoting teamwork and enhancing their communication skills.

A key feature of our transformed reading room will be the dedicated "reading nook". This space will be equipped with soft seating and bookshelves soon to be stocked with a diverse selection of books, providing a quiet and comfortable corner where students can immerse themselves in reading.

Our students are the heart and soul of our school. They are curious, creative, and full of potential. By providing them with a comfortable and stimulating reading environment, we can empower them to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong passion for reading.
