Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Next school year, I will be teaching in a new school, as many of the schools in my district are closing and relocating students. My students will be joining a brand-new program for gifted students in a new school, and will be bussed from surrounding neighborhoods. I want them to walk into this new learning space and feel welcomed and accepted from the time they step through the door. I am requesting a number of books from Latino authors so that my students can see themselves represented in the books that they read. I want them to know that their stories are valued and important.
I am asking for help to supply my students with culturally relevant texts, as well as snacks, and basic clothing items to make sure their personal needs are met so they can focus on learning.
I am also asking for a photo printer to be able to take photos of students throughout the year so we can celebrate their achievements.
The photo printer will allow me to document student achievements, as well as be used to print pictures of field trips and other learning experiences out in the community.
