My Students

My students walk into our class every day full of life and ready to learn. I want each of my students to know they can achieve anything and to believe in themselves just like I do. The students in my classroom are comprised of general education students as well as students with various learning and emotional disabilities. On top of educational and emotional disabilities, many of them have experienced trauma in their lives and have difficulty coming to school.

With that being said, how can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed?

The typical student in my class comes from shelters and doesn't get the love they might need or things they need. We have created a safe, warm and loving classroom environment. The learning environment is key. I want to be able to give each student multiple ways to learn and complete tasks. We want to use this Cricut to brighten our school community and make it safe and welcoming for others.

My Project

The Cricut will create a sense of community and a warm enriched learning environment. The students will feel safe and it will create a classroom where they can express themselves and not feel judged and be able to be creative and be whoever they want when they walk into my classroom door.

This will allow us to display student work in a creative matter on the bulletin board.

The students will feel proud and it will draw everyone’s attention to the amazing things they are doing in the classroom.

The students in my class will walk into a bright and inviting classroom where they will feel safe, and they will be motivated to learn from the teachers and each other. It will teach to all of the different learning styles in my classroom.

It will allow the students to be creative and make the classroom their own and will be tailored in order to meet each and every student's goals and learning style.
