Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach an extraordinary group of middle school students in the Bronx. I believe that my students, and all students, have so much potential and I want to use that to enhance their future both inside and out of education. My students are very diverse, both in their variety of cultures, their needs and their learning styles which makes my job the best in the world.

My students constantly keep me on my toes and their curious minds teach me something new every day.

Most of my students are living in poverty, have insecure housing, or are either immigrants or first-generation Americans. Most of my students have experienced trauma in their lives and all of my students are exceptional individuals who show up each and every day, ready to learn.

My Project

I always take pride in my classroom decor but next year I want to take it to the next level. After being home for 1.5 years, these students need to be wowed upon entering my classroom in September. I want them to feel safe and welcomed in our classroom space while taking ownership of the room as well.

I will use the various decor items and label maker to create a bright and organized aesthetic.

It has been so challenging not having my own space this year, I cannot wait until September!
