Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items in this DonorsChoose project will make a difference in student learning because our 4th and 5th grade Autistic Students will learn how to independently run a school store for their peers. Students will practice math skills through money management ("PACK Paper"), social skills through helping younger students, and independence skills through real-life, job practice.

Our goals for this project are to empower students to feel independent and mature in their school environment.

We also have the goal of motivating students to earn "PACK Paper", our school's currency, through positive behaviors such as being kind to a classmate or helping hand out lunch. To do this, we need storage units and fun sensory items along with aprons, paper money, and play cash register.

My students are special because they are optimistic, resilient, and curious.
