This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my classroom my students love and enjoy using Osmo. Osmo "puts the fun in building learning fundamentals through the magic of hands-on play, tangible pieces and digital fun!" Currently my classroom has 4 different kits that can be used across the different ages I work with. Each kit requires a tablet for the kit to function and my classroom currently has 1 classroom tablet with the addition of my personal tablet I bring once in a while for 2 students to play and learn with Osmo. With bringing my personal tablet comes the worry it might break and for this reason I hope to bring a second classroom tablet to my room. One of our students favorite kit to use is the Little Genius Sticks & Rings that enhances the learning of the alphabet and letter sounds.

Now that my students are familiar with Osmo and have been working with it for two years, I would like to create a space in the classroom were two students at a time can comfortably access Osmo and use it.

The items in this project aim to create a space were Osmo will be stored, easily accessible and used throughout the day. The students love requesting Osmo and I hope this space creates additional independence within my students, as well as aspects of requesting and sharing within the class.
