My Project

This project will help me and other teachers who share the space to set up my advisory and our classroom as a place to welcome teenagers and allow them to connect and learn in confidence and comfort. We are asking for soft pillows and seating as well as coloring materials that will allow our wonderful students to de-stress and connect with each other.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student comfort and support their mental health, you will ultimately help to increase their academic focus and performance.

As educators we know that students who feel welcome in a space and have a place in the school to connect with others and decompress from the stresses of the day and from their lives will be more ready and confident to face their academic and personal challenges.

This classroom space is where my students learn social-emotional skills, about their mental health, and plan for their futures after school. They also seek this space out during their lunch and after school when there are few places to decompress and relax. A comfortable place with calming activities will allow our students to relax from the stresses of the day and focus on their own emotional and social needs.
