My Project

In my kindergarten classroom at a diverse by design charter school, every student brings a unique background and set of needs to our learning community. Many of my students have sensory sensitivities that can make it challenging for them to focus, feel calm, and fully engage in their learning. My goal is to create a sensory-friendly environment where all students can thrive, and that's why I'm reaching out for your support.

I’m requesting sensory tools and flexible seating options that will help my students feel comfortable and focused throughout the day.

Items like weighted stuffies and fidget tools will help reduce sensory overload, allowing students to concentrate on their work without feeling overwhelmed. Flexible seating options such as wobble stools will give students the freedom to choose how they learn best, whether they need to move or prefer a cozy spot to focus.

My primary goal is to create a classroom where all students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. I want to ensure that each child has the tools they need to manage their sensory needs so that they can focus on their education. By implementing these sensory-friendly strategies, I aim to foster a learning environment that promotes calm, focus, and inclusivity.
