My Students

I currently teach a first grade gifted and talented class.

My students perform at a wide range of levels in all subject areas, so having various materials available to accommodate their varying needs and learning styles is crucial.

I wish to support a love of reading in my classroom by having a rich classroom library.

My Project

My class is made up of a diverse group of learners. Many of them are moving up in reading levels fast and currently don't have many options for chapter books or nonfiction books in my classroom library. Funding this project will help me fill these gaps in my classroom library and will help keep reading fun and interesting in my classroom. I would love to fill my classroom library with high interest and enriching texts to encourage reading and to make reading more fun for all of my students, regardless of what level they are reading at.
