Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a second year bilingual teacher, I have learned that students learn best in a welcoming and culturally responsive environment. I want to provide my students with a beautiful multicultural library, a cozy corner to breathe and relax and with a variety of sensory educational toys.

Most of my students come from low income families and currently are struggling to learn a new language and adapt to a new culture.

It is very important to me that they receive the best academic experience this school year.

This project can enhance students' learning because It will allow them to have a library where they can find relevant books where they can feel identified and topics related to their life experiences. Also, creating a cozy corner where the focus will be on learning how to regulate their emotions and allowing them to have a safe space to practice mindfulness during school hours. Lastly, every student learns differently therefore I would like to have different strategies and a variety of sensory educational toys which they can learn from.

I would highly appreciate any donation to this FIRST GRADE BILINGUAL CLASS project.
