Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When it comes to my students, post-pandemic, I believe the most important thing is building strong relationships. I also think it is extremely important that I create a fun and welcoming environment. During COVID-19, many students were at home alone and did not have the opportunity for social interaction with peers. They also became very comfortable in their environment because they were in their own homes.

Since COVID-19, I have focused on making my classroom a fun and inviting place where my students are excited to come in and learn.

I also strive to build a strong, family-like community within my classroom. I believe all the items on my list will assist me with this. The HP printer will give my students and I the ability to print colorful pictures, anchor charts and certificates that will make our classroom a more bright and vibrant environment. My students will love taking instant photos of group projects and STEM activities using the Polaroid instant camera and Itype film. We will be able to immediately display them in fun ways to create a closer classroom community. Pairing both of these products with the AstroBright cardstock, we can make several colorful displays around our classroom. The flexible floor seating will give them a choice of where to sit so they can be comfortable while completing classwork. The choice of seating along with the fidgets will also provide an outlet for those students who may have trouble focusing while sitting in a traditional desk and chair.
