My Students

Our school has over 400 students from preK to fifth grade. My students come from a low socioeconomic community in rural Oklahoma, with many mixed ethnic backgrounds. My 20 kindergarten students are amazing! They are naturally curious and at varying academic levels. Though their families often have limited resources, my kindergarteners are still eager to learn and do their best!

I believe that it is my job to provide my students with a learning environment that is safe, welcoming, enjoyable, interactive, and meets all their learning needs.

I am very proud of them and feel very blessed and lucky to be their kindergarten teacher, and will do whatever it takes to provide them with the best educational experience possible!

My Project

To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I would like to enhance our classroom library. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic students have had to adjust to different learning styles with non traditional supplies, equipment, and methods of instruction. I would like our classroom library to be a cozy space that my students really enjoy. A space where we can read on the carpet together and where they can complete work and read independently!

Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and my students are always excited for a new book or activity.

New books by a favorite author, soft lighting, and organized bins on beautiful bookshelves are sure to make our classroom library a magical and inviting space for kids! Giving students positive experiences with books, provides them with an enriched vocabulary, and helps to instill a lifelong love of learning in my students.
