My Project

After teaching kindergarten and second grade for 20 years I am starting a new adventure in August! I will be teaching second graders for half the day and third graders for the other half in English. These students will be with another teacher their other half of the day learning in Spanish. I will be moving to a new classroom and want to create a shared environment where my students feel at home and comfortable to be ready to learn.

Help me create a shared space for my students to be excited to come to school each day!

These supplies will serve several different purposes. Some materials such as the lamp, writing tools, paper and labels will be used to decorate and organize the classroom in a cheerful and inviting fashion, and other items such as sensory toys, snacks, and stickers will be used for hungry or fidgety students, and earned rewards or motivation as needed.

My students are still adjusting to living and learning in a post-COVID-19 friendly environment and this is a top priority for my students. They have missed out on so much over the past few years with remote and hybrid learning that I want our classroom to be a loving environment that they are excited to visit each day.

My students always seem to be hungry and moving! Having a supply of snacks and treats in the classroom will help my students be more focused throughout the school day. These will be used as rewards and motivation to always try their best and if anyone needs an extra boost throughout the day.
