Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher, I have the incredible honor of working with six autistic students who are non-verbal. Each of them brings something unique and beautiful to our classroom—a spark, a smile, a way of connecting that goes beyond words. They have stolen my heart in every way, and every day I step into the classroom, I feel inspired to be their voice, their advocate, and their biggest supporter.

My students each have their own sensory, emotional, and communicative needs.

Some seek quiet spaces to retreat when overwhelmed; others need movement or tactile input to stay calm and engaged. All of them deserve a space that meets them where they are—one that empowers them to feel safe, seen, and supported.

I’m reaching out to kindly ask for donations to support my incredible group of students, many of whom are autistic and non-verbal. To help create a more comfortable, engaging, and organized learning environment, we are in need of the following:

Accommodating seating options, such as flexible chairs and bean bags, to support sensory needs and promote focus.

Classroom supplies to help us stay organized and create a structured, welcoming space.

LeapFrog learning toys—especially their interactive computers—which my students absolutely love and engage with in meaningful ways.
