Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have chosen a calming tent and sensory toys that will help my learners have a safe space to regulate their emotions. After COVID-19, many students have emotional ups and downs that affect learning in the classroom. The different sensory items I have chosen will be used in conjunction with the calming tent.

Due to COVID-19 it is crucial to keep the classroom clean, and the dust buster will be a great way to quickly vacuum up messes, and give students the opportunity to share in the responsibility.

This will build a space where they can take ownership of the classroom, and feel apart of the class.

Many of my students are struggling in the fine motor department, and so I have chosen an alphabet board to trace their letters, and a sorting game that helps them develop the pincer grasp to write properly. These materials will boost their confidence in these areas.
