Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am passionate about my students because of their resilience, diversity, and the unique perspectives they bring to our classroom. They come from various cultural backgrounds, and many have faced significant challenges in their lives. Despite these obstacles, they show incredible strength and a willingness to learn and grow. What makes my students unique is their openness to exploring new ideas, empathy towards one another, and commitment to building a positive community within our classroom.

The resources I’m requesting will be crucial in enhancing my students' social-emotional learning (SEL).

The stress relief tools, such as the stress balls, will help them manage anxiety and build emotional regulation skills. The Feelings Wheel pillow covers, posters, emotion wheel tapestry, and positive affirmation cards will give them the language and tools to express their emotions, fostering better communication and self-awareness.

The bean bag chairs, and calming corner pillows will create a safe and comfortable space for students to retreat when they need to decompress or reflect. The breathing exercise cards, and mindfulness therapy games will introduce them to mindfulness practices that can reduce stress and improve focus. Additionally, the mandala coloring books, and Crayola colored pencils will offer a creative outlet for expressing emotions and developing fine motor skills.

My goal for this project is to create an inclusive, calming, and supportive environment where students feel valued and equipped to manage their emotions. By providing these resources, I aim to empower my students with the tools they need to navigate their emotions, build resilience, and foster a sense of community and belonging.
