My Project

My students have a lot of energy, and we are channeling them into productive practices in the classroom. We greatly appreciate your support!

Teaching at an urban school in North Philly means we may face different obstacles, so having calm spaces at school is imperative to learning.

Having floor cushions for my students to sit on, class prizes as rewards for good behavior, and a classroom set of headphones so my students can watch videos and listen to music would be a great addition to creating a calm learning environment. The whiteboards--both individual ones for individual work and rolls to cover the cracked walls of our classroom--will help create spaces for my scholars to express themselves and participate in class through new means. and composition notebooks will let us have a collective place to put down our thoughts and feelings during our meditation moments, instead of writing them down on looseleaf paper.
