Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating a calming space with bean bag chairs, stress relief toys, and cozy elements can make a significant difference in a student’s learning experience in several ways. I would like to reduce stress and anxiety for students with soft seating and sensory tools that will provide a safe place for students to relax and self-regulate their emotions. Stress relief toys, like fidget tools or stress balls, would help release tension and improve focus.

Through this calming space, I intend to create positive behavior.

A designated calming area would provide students with a quiet place to reset when they feel overwhelmed. With a calming space, students would also feel welcomed in the class. A cozy space would show students that their well-being is valued and it would fosters a sense of belonging, which is essential for emotional and academic success.
