My Students

I want my students to create music, record it, and publish it to the world. I want students invested in their learning and music is a great way to hook them.

We are a 9-12th grade high school.

There is no question our students love music. However, finding an outlet for this love has been challenging as the music room has been empty of both students and equipment. This is slowly changing. We went from 23 to 35 students this year and we are adding equipment. We know that recording music is an essential skill. We want to offer that to our students.

My Project

With the Finale software and recording package students will be able to record both acoustic and electronic music. We hope to use the equipment to record all students. In addition, students who show an interest will be able to create their own work to be used in a portfolio for college or to gain exposure on the web or iTunes.

These kids need something to get excited about!

They need a place to call their own where they create, create, create. Who knows if the next Jay-Z, Bruce, or Mariah is here within our halls? Lets make it happen!
