Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 36 inquisitive fourth grade gifted students in my classroom. They are full of curiosity, energy, and love to learn.

My students come diverse backgrounds, but ultimately they all share a love learning about the world around them!

My goal is to keep that love for learning and inquisitive fire in them by providing them a classroom environment that promotes learning through hands-on experiments, real-world problem solving, and incorporating technology to create active life long learners. Ultimately, I want to prepare students for the real world and encourage individual learning and self growth.

My Project

For my project I have asked for a laminating machine, laminating pouches, a document camera and color toner for our classroom printer. We have a Classroom Newsletter where my students write about special events coming up during the month, special activities we did in class the previous month and any special events or recognition of certain students.

My students are very proud of their monthly newsletter and would love to see it printed in color and laminated as part of the publishing process!

The Monthly Newsletter gives my students the opportunity to go through the writing process in a more enjoyable way and see themselves as true publishers. The document camera will help me project student work on the board to acknowledge a certain Math problem approach or an answer to a particular question. I can also use the document camera to project a certain article/picture related to what I am teaching or I find interesting.
