This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My young scientists are in 6th grade at a Title I school in Brooklyn. They have various skills and abilities and deserve a beautiful and organized science classroom for them to thrive! Greenery within the school and organizational materials for teachers will make it possible for our students to learn in a welcoming and calm environment.

Research shows that students learn better in an organized and well-decorated classroom.

My students work hard and try their best to achieve our rigorous academic goals. The plants will brighten up our room and make it a cozier to learn in. Personally, I will use the magnets, sign holders, and the hangers to organize our lesson notes that students write for each science topic. We use gallon plastic bags for sorting activities so that students can more easily learn vocabulary words, and the disinfecting wipes go a long way in making sure everyone stays safe and clean. A laptop stand will prop up our class computer that we use for ClassDojo points. You should see kids' faces when they reach a points milestone!

Creating a classroom that welcomes and feels good inside will help them in their endeavors! By donating to this project, you will be assisting Ms. Mac (Ms. McDaniel) decorate and organize our classroom materials.
