My Project

My students are curious and resilient, they come to school each day ready to learn, despite the challenges they face outside the classroom. As students from a transfer school, they encounter unique challenges and have often had to overcome significant obstacles just to be here. Each of them brings something special to our learning community, whether it’s their creativity, kindness, or determination.

The specific items being donated —such as plants, posters, cozy chairs, and small treats—will transform the wellness corner into a calming, supportive space for students to recharge and focus on their well-being.

All the donated items will go towards our program, Mind-Space which gives teens a platform to share their voices, raise awareness around mental health, and discover healthy coping strategies. The goal of Mind-Space is to empower students, educate them and their communities, and create a culture of peer support. The plants will bring a touch of nature into our space, helping students feel more relaxed. The posters with positive affirmations will inspire them and remind them of their strengths. The cozy chairs will give them a comfortable place to unwind and reflect, which is important for mental well-being. And the chocolates add a comforting treat to make the space feel even more welcoming.

My students are special because they’re not just learners—they’re resilient, compassionate individuals who support each other and strive to overcome obstacles. My goal for this project is to create a space where my students feel safe and supported, allowing them to thrive both academically and personally. By prioritizing their mental well-being, we can help them build the resilience and focus needed to succeed, not just in school but in life. This wellness room will be a crucial resource, demonstrating that their health and happiness are just as important as their academic success.
