Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our 5th grade class this year is participating in a Project Based Learning activity where they are essentially finding a problem in the community and creating a solution. This project will be approximately 6 weeks during the spring. The students will be extremely engaged in this project as they are the ones creating it and they will be incorporating every subject area into it. During this project, we will be creating community maps where the students will use the art supplies. Students will then use these maps to present to family, elected officials and other students where we will put the garbage cans around the community to help with the garbage issues. Students will also film videos about the project. They will need the lights and microphones to help make the videos more professional. The students will also have their confidence boosted because they will be filming these professional videos to share with elected officials and parents. These materials will help bring this vision to life. The students need art supplies and filming supplies that they can use to help them present this project to elected officials, parents, community members and other students.
