My Students

I teach 11th and 12th grade math to amazing and inspiring students.

At my school, our mission is to provide a college-preparatory learning experience with a focus on individual freedom, critical thinking, and problem solving in an environment that emphasizes the values of community, teamwork, and nonviolence.

Our students, mostly from Wilmington and surrounding areas, can and do achieve at high levels. Most aspire to go to college and we do everything we can to help them succeed there and in the future.

My Project

My Algebra 2, Precalculus, and AP Calculus need access to scientific calculators. Many of them cannot afford their own calculators and have to rely on their cell phone apps (which they cannot use during tests and quizzes) which are cumbersome and confusing.

Many of my students have zero calculator experience and struggle with even basic computations; they need experience with actual calculators to practice challenging concepts like logarithms, exponential functions, and trigonometry.

The math they encounter in 11th and 12th grade is vital for success in college, and the more experience they get with such a tool will pay off in their future academics.

As we approach SATs and AP Exams, the students need lots of practice with the calculator before taking these high stakes tests. Please help my students perform to their fullest potential by helping me procure a class set of scientific calculators.
