My students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Each student provides a unique perspective and insight into how the community functions and how it can be improved. Together, we establish a strong bond of support, enthusiasm, and hope. Our trust in each other goes a long way.
My Project
Most of our students come to school without breakfast or without snacks. When they are hungry, they can become irritable and their ability to focus on learning is significantly compromised. They are more focused on satisfying their hunger rather than learning inside a classroom. By knowing there are snacks available in the classroom, they will be encouraged to go to class and believe that those at the school care about their essential needs in addition to their educational/student needs. A bag of chips goes a long way with these students.
