Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from all different walks of life and make up a very diverse student body. They enjoy school and for many of them, school is the best hours of their day. Despite the many personal challenges they experience on a daily basis, my students show up each day with the hopes to accomplish great things. My students accept challenges and strive to rise to their teacher's expectations.

I teach at a Title I School in Nevada in which a high percentage of my students come from bilingual homes and receive free lunch.

My students often face tough obstacles in their lives but arrive at school smiling and ready to learn. They love their teachers and they adore their principal. Our school truly is a community – a family. We each do our part, as students and teachers to work side by side with one mission in mind: our students’ success. We set high expectations for ourselves and for our students. We learn from one another and work to make a difference in our community.

My Project

The requested supplies will help me further develop my student's abilities to practice positive SEL strategies on a daily basis. The gift cards will be raffled off as an incentive for those students who earn a Knight Ticket for demonstrating the SEL strategies we will learn.

Help me get my students in the holiday spirit before they go on a two-week break from school.

The printer and cricket materials will help us decorate our Christmas tree and make holiday crafts. The resources requested in this project are very special because they will allow me to reward my students and support their social-emotional learning, while getting them in the holiday spirit before we are apart for two weeks.
