Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

By donating to this project, you will help my students receive basic art supplies to use to create and express themselves with!

My students are mostly English Language Learners who live in a low socio-economic urban area in New York City.

Most of their parents are immigrants from other countries who do not speak English but work very hard with their children. I want them to succeed and to build their self-esteem and confidence.

My Project

My students will be able to create works of art using paint, colored pencils and other media to express themselves. I've asked for various types of paint and paper, paint brushes and collage materials to allow their imaginations to run wild. I've also asked for a drying rack to give them a place to keep their wet works of art!

Art is an important part of a healthy development for children.

It allows them to express themselves creatively as well as allows them to gain self-confidence and use their imagination. What good is it to be a child if we can't use our imagination?
