Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school we have 3 different books clubs. We love reading books and discussing them with each other. The students in our book clubs become really close. I have seen students come in at the beginning of the year very shy and to themselves. But during the course of a semester, they are laughing and joking with each other. My hope is that they are making friends they will keep throughout their school years and beyond.

At the end of each semester, we like to celebrate friendships made and good books we've read together with snacks and a craft project.

This weave and loom project is one in which we can use for many years. The plastic weave is such that it may last 10 years and beyond. The looms are enough to get us through a couple of years and they are easy to replace. Please help me give my students a fun crafting project every school year.
