My Students

I love this group of first graders, but they are very different than any first grade I have had. My friends love building, drawing, creating, and moving. We really like being in charge of other people’s lives, we’re bossy, and we struggle to share. It has been a fun year but exhausting at times.

Despite that, my students are creating their own path to a successful future.

My diverse class of students loves​ to explore our classroom each and every day! They have the potential to be anything! Every day, I am amazed at just how innovative and creative they are.

My Project

Construction paper is essential for any first-grade class. We use construction paper every day for art, literacy, math and science activities. Every week, my students focus on a phonics sound. We use construction paper to create art projects that we call "a craftivity".

Art is a great way to engage students in activity and develop fine motor skills.

In order to put our craftivity together, we also use glue sticks. Our class is in need of glue sticks because we create art in our classroom every day! The stickers will give our craftivities an extra boost of fun and excitement!
