This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I'm teaching a 5th grade class that is always wanting to draw, create and make something! By providing them with the tools necessary they will be be inspired to paint, observe, model, design, build, and create through different forms (watercolor, drawing, gluing colored paper, collaging, etc.). Through each unit we teach we will incorporate a variety of arts and crafts to support students and help them better understand the concept being taught. As students use a paintbrush, they can tell a story or create a new one. By using colors, they illustrate their emotions. Children can make friendship bracelets that last a lifetime along with friendships as well. When kids feel good creating, art helps them feel great about themselves!

Helping our children will make a difference because they will have the right tools to develop their creativity.Students enjoy telling about their masterpieces and being able to display and share them will boost their self-esteem.

Finally, they will be able to invent new ways of thinking and this is a skill that will help them for life!
