My Project

Due to the overwhelming success of the last project, this project entails using the additional funds from that project to support my students and create a classroom centered around themselves. Students in the present day are learning in a new environment. It is now more important than ever to curtail our classrooms to fit the needs of our students. Students will have several flexible seating options with recliner rockers, which widens the accessibility and comfort of the room. Alternative lighting with lamps offers students a break from the overhead lights. Other supplies, such as posters and clay will help in project based classes where students will create colonies based off of early settlements in Maine, model societal phenomenons, or create presentations detailing global issues.

In essence, the support you have shown my classroom will produce a classroom reflective of the needs of 21st century learners.

These materials place students in an active role, where they will be tasked with applying the concepts and ideas brought forth to them. This active participation transcends their role from listening to me speak, to actually immersing themselves into the content. Thus, these items are the tools needed to achieve this.
