Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For this proposal, I am requesting tools and accessories to engage in quilling, crafts, and paperwork. This timeless activity is a fun, enjoyable craft that allows kiddos to focus, relax, and feel satisfaction in learning a new skill. My students really like crafts and activities that use their hands, because they are so often on a tablet, quilling can be a new way to build their dexterity. They rarely get to use their hands and it is fun to see young people focus. I enjoy crafting with teenagers and they seem to relax, giggle, and have fun. I like to teach them strategies and hobbies that make them feel good while also allowing new ways to be productive. I notice that my students want to keep the art room a happy space and it brings us all great joy to use high quality and engaging materials. Learning new crafts that will become lifelong productive hobbies
