Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kids need creative crafts! This summer I taught an enrichment course on crafting and the joy and enthusiasm my students had as we learned to work with thread, paint, and beads was exactly what they needed. We were all sad to see it come to an end but.... As the school year starts up, I would like to volunteer to start an afterschool Craft Club. Students 6th-8th will be welcome as I teach them how to embroider, cross stitch, paint, and make their own keychains and boondoggles. The hard part isn't getting kids excited about art- it's getting supplies!

This project will help them become creators and allow them to take their artwork home to own!
