Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a class of adorable, energetic, eager to learn four and five year old students. For my class project, "Cozying Up With A Good Book," I am asking for books for the Piggy and Elephant book series. This book series is written by the famous children's author, Mo Willems. These books are very funny and the books are interactive. I know they will be a hit in my Kindergarten classroom. My goals for this project is to make my classroom library a place where children can develop a love for reading, a love for books and a love for learning. I would like to expose the children to many different books and authors. With your generous donation, I can work on skills such as identifying the characters, character traits, character feelings, similarities and differences between the characters in one book compared to other books in the series. My goal is to build language by retelling and talking about the books, by comparing and contrasting characters and stories and by making connections. Please help make this dream become a reality by donating to my class project.
